All 18 chapters of the CPO® Handbook will be covered in an organized fashion utilizing a variety of effective/motivational teaching techniques.  These instructional techniques may include lecture, discussion, power point presentation and demonstration. We, at Safe Aquatics, believe that pool operation is a hands on profession.  Therefore, you can expect several skills to be demonstrated (water testing, backwashing, etc.) as time and resources allow. You can prepare by requesting the CPO Handbook and the complimentary NSPF Math Workbook in advance.  The test on the second day is an open book/open note exam.  Bring your calculator.  A score of 75% is required for passing. Once you have passed the exam you will receive your CPO® Certificate and wallet size card in the mail which are valid for five years from the date of course completion. In the unlikely event someone has difficulty passing the exam; retakes can be scheduled with the primary instructor within 90 days of the course.

What should I bring with me to class?

A valid picture ID, a calculator (not on your telephone), writing utensils, note paper, calculator,  your CPO Handbook, a calculator, and Math Workbook. Did we mention a calculator? Seriously, you must have a calculator that is not in your cell phone. Cell phones must be out of sight during the testing situation. Dress is casual.
